Mariachi Stories documents stories of the Mariachis at Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights. Being the only Mariachi Plaza in the nation, Boyle Heights is unique in housing Mariachis and Mariachi Music from Mexico. Their mere presence serves to create a space of belonging, joy and cultural pride in a predominantly Latino community. Mariachi Stories showcases the diversity of narratives, the way people came to Mariachi music and their motives to continue its practice, especially on this side of the border.

Being first to graduate in your family is an accomplishment to feel proud of, but one that comes with many challenges. Roosevelt High School students in the first graduating class of College Track Boyle Heights share their testimonies, their challenges, joy, and memories going through the College Track program. They share their personal experiences being on a path to college graduation. This project proves that individuals in the Latino community are not just statistics; they are hard working individuals who are conscious of who they are, where they come from and where they are going.

Isaac Castañeda is a self-taught musician. At four years old he began to play piano. In a short amount of time he began to play anything that he heard. At the age of 12, he began to compose on the piano. Currently, he plays the piano, cello, guitar, marimba, flute and drums. His dream is to study music to inspire others with his own perspective within the world of this acoustic art.
